Zaragoza, 28. – 30. April 2014
The WG1 and WG2 meeting held at the Zaragoza Scientific Center for Advanced Modelling (ZCAM) in Zaragoza (Spain) was organised by Veronica Ganduglia-Pirovano and Paola Luches.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss recent advances and future perspectives and challenges in the synthesis and understanding of reducible oxides and their functionality.
Bringing together 35 participants from WG1 and WG2 with guest scientists proved to be an effective way to identify promising new research topics and to define the pathways of future work. It has been a further stimulating occasion to strengthen existing collaborations within and across the participating working groups as well as with external research institutions with complementary skills on similar subjects. The format of a round table discussion of topical issues at the end of the meeting turned out to be specifically stimulating and most helpful in strategy building.
