Our work focuses at preparation and characterization of model reducible oxides’ surfaces and studying their adsorption-desorption properties towards small molecules. These activities aim at revealing the interdependence between chemical and structural properties and the kinetics of chemical reactions on the surfaces. The oxides studied include ceria, alumina, tin oxide and tungsten oxide. Our team has long standing expertise in model systems preparation and study and operates its surface physics experimental equipment to match. The methods include in situ XPS/UPS, XPD, LEIS, LEED, RHEED, TPD, IRAS, and STM/STS, but also ex-situ AFM, FIB-SEM and a chemical micro-reactor.
