Model description of WGS reaction on gold/ceria catalyst: The 14-atoms Au cluster is deposited on (001) plane of oxygen deficient CeOy (y4+ and Ce3+ ions: V0––oxygen vacancy; Au0––neutral Au atom; Auδ+––positively charged gold; Ow––water oxygen atom.

Model description of WGS reaction on gold/ceria catalyst: The 14-atoms Au cluster is deposited on (001) plane of oxygen deficient CeOy (y<2.0), containing Ce4+ and Ce3+ ions: V0––oxygen vacancy; Au0––neutral Au atom; Auδ+––positively charged gold; Ow––water oxygen atom.

The activity aims at preparation, physicochemical characterization (including evaluation of the reduction behavior by quantitative and also qualitative results from temperature programmed reduction measurements) and catalytic activity tests of nanosized gold catalysts on ceria and modified with other metals ceria supports. The goal is: i) the understanding of relationship between structure of the doped ceria supports, reducibility depending on the presence of gold and doping metals and the catalytic behavior; 2) the selection of highly active, selective and stabile gold catalysts on appropriate metal oxide supports for important from the environmental point of view reactions as pure hydrogen production via water gas shift (WGS) and selective oxidation in hydrogen reach steam (PROX), and air pollution abatement via hydrocarbon complete oxidation.
